More cinematic lit.

One of my favorite films we have watched in class so far is Say Anything. It's a film with melodramatic elements. But it was also the first one we watched in color. Also I love the realistic plot line. An average boy, Lloyd, likes the popular, smart girl and he does whatever he can to get a date with her, which includes calling her house until she agrees to a date. However, the Diane, the girl, is leaving to go to college far away and Lloyd only has the summer to be with her. They spend all of their time together and Lloyd falls in love with her. But Diane pushes him away so she doesn't have to leave him later on. Also there is a problem with Diane's father's money and she ends up finding out something that gets her father in trouble. It's a really good movie and kind of a modern take on a love story because not everything turns out perfect. Also this is the film with the iconic image of the boy standing outside the girls house holding the stereo. Say Anything has melodramatic elements that sometimes make you laugh when you shouldn't. In some scenes the music is so dramatic that it is a little funny. But overall I really liked this film.



The Big Sleep is a different kind of genre, it is a Film Noir. In this film the flawed hero (Philip Marlowe) and detective attempts to solve the murder of Sean Regan and falls in love with the sister of the murderer. All of the elements that are in a Film Noir is what made this movie great. There is the specific use of lighting that sets the mood for certain scenes, the dialogue is short and funny with wise jokes that make you stop and think, and the dark side of nature is displayed well. The only problem with this film is that to me all of the characters looked very similar. It was a little hard to keep up with who had been killed or who was talking at the time. But this film has a great end, the mystery gets solved and Marlowe gets rid of the bad guy with out having to kill him himself.



L.A. Confidential was another great film, but this only contained the elements of a Film Noir. In this movie the character who really stood out was Bud White (Russell Crowe). He is a police officer against domestic violence, because of how he was raised, and sometimes does impulsive things to stop the violence. White and Ed Exley, the cop turned detective who plays by the rules, wind up working together to solve the Nite Owl murders and the movie star looking prostitute scam. This film had a lot of action and a kind of happy ending. The Veronica Lake look alike ends up helping White even though it gets her in trouble at the same time. Once again the only thing wrong with this film was that there were so many characters. It was hard to keep track about who had been murdered and by who. Bud White and Ed Exley were the main characters who stuck out to me because they are introduced closer to the beginning and have really distinct personalities. I would definitely watch this movie again if I had the chance.

The last movie we just watched was Casablanca. When I first saw this movie I hated it. I was bored and it didn't make any sense. But the second time I watched it in class I actually kind of liked it. Humphrey Bogart plays Rick Blaine, the owner of a night club for higher class people in Casablanca. Everyone is escaping the Germans and are getting stuck in Casablanca. In the film, Ingrid Bergman plays the character Ilsa Lund, a woman who had a short romance with Rick. Rick and Ilsa were supposed to board a train together to get away from German rule, but she never showed up and just left a note saying they couldn't be together. The next time she and Rick meet is when she walks into Rick's club. This film is a bit of a love story and also a melodrama. In a lot of the scenes the music plays a big part to make you feel a certain way and is sometimes over dramatic. It's a classic and is referenced in a lot of other shows and many quotes are famous. Everyone should see this film at least once in their life.

Cinematic Lit.

So this year I'm taking a class called cinematic literacy and it's great! The teacher is a lot of fun and I just like the class in general. It helps me to broaden my genres of movies and to see older films that I might not have seen otherwise. So far we've watched a lot of films and I'm going to talk about them and share my opinions. Maybe some of you will decide to see some of these films as well.


The first film we watched was Modern Times. It's a silent film and it was my first time seeing a silent film. However, there was some dialogue in the film but it only came out of machines. I loved it! This film was really entertaining and it kept my interest and not just because it was silent and I had to pay attention to understand. In general it was just comical and fun. A "tramp" who works at a factory is always in the wrong place at the wrong time. He ends up losing his job and being sent to a mental hospital for being crazy. When he gets out of the hospital he finds himself in constant unlucky situations that land him in jail and running from the police. Throughout the film he meets and falls in love with a girl and does everything he can to protect her. And even when the times are bad, the tramp is still optimistic and in the end he is still hopeful. I liked this film a lot and the music plays a big role. It takes the place of dialogue and so it has emotion to the music. Also the comedy is childish and obvious. There aren't any jokes that you have to sit and think about.

Another film we watched was Mr. Smith Goes to Washington which is considered a melodrama. A boy ranger leader is elected to be part of the congress and so he goes to Washington. Mr. Smith, being an average guy, is blown away with all the sights in Washington DC and in the film he stands up for himself and the other boy rangers. He wants to build a camp for the boys and goes on a filibusterous rant to prove his point and eventually wins. It was a decent film. It wasn't anything special to me though. There were a few funny parts, such as when the boy rangers were being chased after for their papers near the end. But really there's not much to say about this film. It was okay but I don't think I would want to watch it again on my own time. The music in the film is used to create a certain feeling in the viewer and the camera angles do the same, causing the film to be a melodrama.

The Philadelphia Story is a film about a high class woman who had divorced her husband is now about to remarry. Everything is fine until the ex-husband returns and brings reporters to write a bad story about Tracy Lord (the woman). Lord ends up in a love with three men: her ex-husband, the reporter, and her fiancee George Kittedge. It's a film with a strong woman who is torn between three men and trying to keep everything a secret. However, she doesn't do to well when she has too much to drink and ends up taking a late night swim with the reporter and her fiancee catches her. This film has a lot of twists and turns and an unexpected ending. You will never guess who she ends up marrying at the end, and I didn't even know until the last minute. This is not one of my favorite movies, Tracy Lord was a bit annoying to me. The strength she has at the beginning completely disappears by the end and she becomes a mess. At the end she just seems so over dramatic and the once strong woman is now desperate and trying to hard to have her wedding not be cancelled.

Salad Fingers

When I'm hanging out with my friends and bored, usually we turn to You Tube. There are always random crazy videos to find on there that will give you a good laugh and can be used as inside jokes. Recently me and my friends were introduced to Salad Fingers. The name is weird enough, but it sound some what bright and happy. I mean whats better then salad, you can't really turn it into anything bad, or so I thought. But the video series is the complete opposite. It's a funny series but also beyond creepy.

First of all, every episode has a random story line that makes no sense. In this video Salad Fingers started off having his "friends" over. This soon led to Salad Fingers tasting his friends. It's really creepy. Then he tricks a kid to get in his over and dreams about raw meat. Let me just say this is the most bizarre episode in the series and the others aren't as eerie. But who came up with this plot? The creators website thing says he's 27 years old. Why is a 27 year old sitting at home making creepy videos about salad?

The funny thing about Salad Fingers is that his dialect is so proper it makes the videos even more creepy. On top of that throughout all the videos there is crackly eerie music playing in the background. It's the kind of music that can make anything seem scary. Plus the sound effects just add to it. The sound you here when Salad Fingers moves is like sand paper or something. The whole thing is just crazy and random.


I always feel bad for those people who put videos on You Tube that aren't really funny at all, they just don't have anything better to do.

All I have to say is WHY? I would definitely not want a video of myself sitting on the toilet all over You Tube. That's just a little weird. I mean are you really so bored you have to put videos of your personal life for the whole world to see?
Chapstick girl is pushing it to. That's just like forcing yourself to be funny and it just comes off as annoying. Her other video called Invasion is just her trying to hard to. She is trying to be funny but you only end up laughing because it's so stupid and sad that she really has nothing to do but run around her yard hitting things. I feel bad for people because now those videos will always be around.

The final thing I'd like to rant about the stupid things people do online is Chat Roulette. The idea is great: get a bunch of friends around a web cam and just meet new people and have fun. But honestly a lot of it is kind of sketchy and creepy. People go on there by themselves which I think is kind of weird because it doesn't seem like much fun. THEN, you get the creepy middle aged men on by themselves trying to make "friends". It's really sketchy and I don't recommend doing it by yourself because people might get the wrong idea. Most the people who go on there alone are doing gross dirty things that no one wants to see.

Another reason why the internet shouldn't be for young kids.

So the other day I was just sitting at home watching TV and I kept seeing the same commercial over and over again. It was for Vat19.com. I thought it looked pretty cool and so recently I went online and checked it out. In the commercial it said it was the website for curiously awesome gifts, and it's kind of a true statement.
First let me just say, they have some pretty cool and weird things, but what would you do with them?!

What is the reason for this giant gummy bear... on a stick. Yeah it's pretty fun and would be funny to give as a gift, but why? It's like 88 times the size of a normal gummy bear, which means it's like buying 88 small gummy bears for like ten dollars. It would be cheaper to buy the little gummy bears. But of course not as cool! Who wouldn't want a giant gummy bear on a stick! It tastes even better then the little ones! Also available: World's Largest Gummy Bear!

Honestly, this seems more like a gift for a little girl to use with dolls. The wheels actually roll, what if all the sudden your office supplies start to roll away. Then what are you going to do?

Finally! A sweatshirt that can hold my beer and keep me warm! Surprisingly, it's very useful! You can fix your car without ever putting down your drink. Not old enough for beer? Don't worry! Insta Snow Powder

To cold to play in the snow outside? It's okay because now that there's Insta Snow Powder, you can have the fun of winter without the cold. What a great idea! Plus, it doesn't melt and will last for weeks! Make sure your moms okay with the blizzard in the living room... and be careful sledding down the stairs.

Now don't get me wrong, these are really fun ideas. But I just don't know what you would do with most of them. I don't think that a drink holding sweatshirt is really practical. Like you can't really run around and play a sport with that, it would spill every where. But this would be a good funny gift to a friend, but only as a joke.

I like gummy bears, but I don't think I would want a giant one. It's just so much gummy bear! I wouldn't want to eat it either. It would stay wrapped up and on display in my house. I know it says it's on a stick so you can eat it easier, but it would be better not on a stick.

I don't know anyone who would want snow in their backyard in the summer, and you probably shouldn't use insta snow in your house. It would be better used for a prank. Like if you wanted to play a joke on your friend, while they're sleeping just fill their bedroom with insta snow. They will definitely wake up confused, and a little worried.

The shopping cart caddy is cute, but it's just another thing to distract you from work! I would be to busy racing shopping carts or rolling it around on my desk that i probably wouldn't get any work done. It's more of a toy then a supply caddy.

Snow Days and Movies

So this week we had a snow day, which would have been fun if I was allowed to go somewhere. But according to my parents, the roads were to bad for me to leave the house. So I had plenty of time to watch some movies. I know they've been out for a while but i finally watched The Other Boleyn Girl and 500 Days of Summer.

The Other Boleyn Girl started off a good movie, but it got worse and worse. I like the kind of movies set in the renaissance with the old fashion clothing. Also the drama is kind of old fashion in a way. The way the girls compete with each other is cruel and not something you see in a movie today. Also the language that is used is not like curse words but they still have the same effect. Anne Boleyn pretty much banishes her sister so that she can take her spot and marry the king. Her sister had a baby with the king but is viewed as a whore because they were not married and the king was still married to his previous wife. But after all Anne gets, she still wants more power and ends up just causing trouble for herself. The king who is no her husband hates her and now only wants her so she can produce a male heir. He abuses her and rapes her, and the relationship they have is very cold and just getting more violent. When Anne miss carries she does something horrible to try and keep it a secret, because if the king knows he will send her away or find another girl. Anne ends up getting caught for the horrible thing she does and is convicted of treason and is beheaded along with her brother. Not the kind of movie I really expected. I wasn't aware that it was going to end horribly and there wasn't really any happy ending at all. The first half of the film was great but the end was pretty bad. I don't really recommend seeing this movie. But now it makes me want to read the book to see if it was better. According to Aloma, it's an R rated book, which i guess kind of reflects the movie.

I also watched 500 Days Of Summer (Recommended by Aloma). I loved this movie! The girl who plays Summer (Zooey Deschanel) was the same girl who played in Yes Man, also a really good movie. Anyways... I love how she acts, she seems like she tries to be serious but it just comes off as hilarious! The plot is not a love story, and it is even said by the narrator at the beginning. In the movie, Tom meets a girl named Summer at the greeting card office he works at. They start to be friends and Tom falls in love with Summer, even though she warned him that she didn't want a relationship. SPOILER ALERT! Eventually, Summer "breaks up" with Tom and they go their separate ways. Later on, Tom meets back up with Summer and goes to a party she's hosting, only to realize that she's getting married and still isn't interested in him. In the end Tom realizes that there is not one person he will love and that his soul mate might still be out there. By the way, this all happens within 500 days of Tom's life. It seems like a lot happens in these 500 days and it's not really realistic. Tom meets a girl, dates a girl, they break up, she gets married, Tom quits his job, starts sketching to be an architect, interviews for a job, and meets a new girl. Every thing happens kind of fast but it's still a really good movie.

This was a really good movie and shows a different kind of love story where the boy doesn't get his girl in the end, but still has a good lesson to the movie.

What the...

Why do people do the things they do? That's kind of a broad question, but really, what is wrong with some people. Look at these pictures:

Now don't get me wrong, it's fine if you want tattoos or piercings. I have no problem with it, and in fact I want tattoos myself. But why do people feel the need to go so overboard. I can't understand why people cover their faces and bodies with so many random tattoos and piercings. These things are for life people! It might look good when you're younger and it's the cool thing to do, but the tattoos and piercings (depending on the size) will last you a life time. A tattoo isn't gonna look as good when your skin is wrinkly. Not to mention you might not even be able to tell what it is. My grandpa has a tattoo of a rose on his ankle and you can barley tell what it is because he is wrinkly and the colors look like they have faded. Now imagine that all over your face. The man with all the colorful designs on the picture above will deal with that for the rest of his life. Not only is it bizarre now, but think of when he's old a wrinkly. No one wants to see a crazy old man with a face full of tattoos.

Not only will everyday people look at you twice as you walk by, (and not in a good way) but how can you ever be taken seriously. The first picture of the woman with the "butterflies" on her head must have trouble in life. I don't know when she got the tattoo, but how did she have a job with that thing. She could never really work for a business because I'm sure there wouldn't be much company for her with such an inappropriate tattoo. Also how do you explain that kind of tattoo when you meet new people. Then you just get into a long awkward discussion of a stupid mistake you made when you were young or you lost some crazy bet.

If you must get a tattoo then if anything get it somewhere that can be covered. There's a disadvantage for someone with a huge tattoo of something inappropriate for the workplace. But also people don't really think about the results of piercings. If you get gages or something really big, the hole might never close up. Then you will always be walking around with giant holes in your ears that aren't meant to be there. Plus, the guy in the middle picture looks like he has a giant piercing in his nose. How is that even going to look later on in life. Probably not good.

All the time when I'm at work, I always see these two older men who come in and they have tons of piercings and tattoos on their faces and arms. Now I'm sure they were the cool kids of their time, but obviously they didn't think ahead to what it would look like when they were older. Honestly, they look ridiculous and if it were me i would regret the decision to pierce my face and get tattoos in visible places.

I know I've been bashing tattoos, but I like tattoos. There just should be a limit on when your going over the top and later on you might regret it. There should be someone to tell you that you will look like an idiot. But for the next few people they must have been alone because no friend would allow this to happen:

How would you like to be a business person trying to introduce skull man, cow butt, or checkerboard face? I would even be embarrassed to introduce them as my friends. The moral of the story is to think about your tattoos and piercings before you actually get them. Something that permanent should not be done on a whim and if it is you will probably regret it. Especially if it's something embarrassing or just plain weird. If you really want a crazy tattoo and don't care what other people think about it, go for it. Just remember if you need to remove it, it would cost a lot of money and cause probably a lot of pain. Have fun getting your face tattoos lasered off!

Nerdy television show obsessions

I have nothing else to blog about at the moment, so I will tell you all about my nerdy obsession with Supernatural. Supernatural is my favorite television series and I could spend all day watching it. The title pretty much describes the show completely. It's about two brothers who go on "adventures" to find supernatural things and destroy, or sometimes help them. Before I say anything else I have to post a picture of them: These are the brothers and main characters of Supernatural. In every episode, Sam and Dean go on some crazy road trip looking for monsters and mythical creatures. Yes, I know this is nerdy and a little over the top but I love the show. Not only do the brothers have the ability to catch a viewer's attention with their good looks, but surprisingly the show can get a little emotional. There's nothing more emotional then when two strong men start crying about things that are important to them. I have never cried over this show, but my friend who shares the same obsession of Supernatural was in tears when same "died". But he came back to life so no worries.

This show has a lot of action in it and to me it's really intense at some points. Also I noticed a lot of ideas from horror movies and concepts from things such as the original Brothers Grimm, which by the way I got the original stories for Christmas.

This is Supernaturals representation on the Brothers Grimm Snow White. In the plot of the show, the little girl is really an older girl sick in the hospital. The little girl symbolizes the fear she has about being in the hospital and the whole episode is about her dad reading her fairy tales while she is sick in bed and somehow the girl is making the fairy tales come true. She recreates the big bad wolf and it actually kills someone. It's kind of ridiculous and out there but it's really interesting. To me it's also a cool twist on the fairy tales that are supposed to have the happy endings and the character gets what they want.

Another on of my favorite episodes was one about a wishing well. People threw coins into a special fountain and their wishes came true. One of the wishes was by a little girl that her teddy bear could come to life. The scenes with the giant teddy bear were more comical, until the bear became suicidal and ended up killing himself. Yikes, not exactly what a little girls wants to see her teddy bear do. Another on of the wishes was a really nerdy guy wished for the pretty popular girl to love him. Turns out his wish wasn't what he planned on and the girl was obsessed with him. He ended up not liking the girl anymore and needing Sam and Deans help to put an end to the wishes and the wishing well.

Most of the episodes carry on like this. The first scene shows a supernatural problem: a man was found dead with his heat missing, scarecrows that come to life, ghosts in an old house, and a lot of random things about demons. Then Sam and Dean find out the problem where ever it is, drive down there in their old fixed up car, and save the day using their smarts of all things supernatural. However the series does have a plot line. Sam and Deans mother was killed by the "yellow-eyed" demon and they are on a mission to find the demon and kill him. They eventually do so in one of the seasons and a sort of new plot line is formed. But in their spare time between killing demons and finding angels, they save everyday people from the supernatural things. So yes it is the ultimate nerd show, but it's also a mixture of horror and action movies all in one and will definitely keep you interested and hooked to the series until the last episode.

Creepy kids shows

When I was a kid this was one of my favorite shows and I stilled remembered it enough to find a video clip. But after watching it again, I realize how creepy and weird it is. First off, the characters are hard to describe, I don't think you can even call those costumes, it's just so bizarre. They look some what rubbery and have hints of human characteristics that make them even more uninviting. Also the video clip is only part on of the episode and already started off a little scary for a little kid to watch, which is what age the series was aimed for. The first couple minutes show the grandmother telling a scary story about the baby's 2nd birthday and how he was going to be a terrible two. The scene gets dark and in the background there are flashes of lightning, the standard setting when a scary story is being told. It's kind of ridiculous but I would think that a little kid would be scared. Also, there's a part where the baby is using a sling shot and shooting a bottle at the TV, laughing like a physco and then breaking the TV. Aren't kids shows supposed to set some kind of an example? All I'm getting from this show is that it's okay for kids to be selfish on their birthdays, yell for presents, break things, and chase after their family with a car if they don't get their way. Not exactly a good example to be set for children.

But then again, I have seen worse kids shows, ones that should never be shown to children.

Why was this show ever made?! Yes it was banned, and for good reason. Once again the characters are creepy looking. Clay-Animation it kind of cool, but these characters are disproportionate and always have a scared expression. Also this whole episode deals with adult themes. An angel named Satan does not seem like a good character for a children's show, the voice makes it extremely weird. The show also displays the "angel" smoking, which I'm sure you wouldn't want your children watching. The show goes on to describe humans as worthless and greedy,and then shows natural disasters killing the clay humans.
Then there is a monster thing who tries to stab one of the characters. All of these scenes and events in the show are apparently the thoughts of Mark Twain. This kind of show with lost children suffering from bad events caused by the thoughts of Mark Twain would make no sense to a child watching the show. It would just scar them for life.

Children's shows are supposed to be happy and positive and teach kids lessons. Not scare and confuse them. I remember the good old days when kids watched Rugrats, and Clifford and even Sesame Street. Now that's all changed and the only Rugrats I see is All Grown Up, which isn't even close to as good, Clifford isn't even played anymore and Sesame Street characters were changed to be healthy. Cookie Monster is now veggie monster and teaching kids is more exaggerated and obvious. The shows that teach children are annoying and only aimed at really young kids who can't vocalize how obnoxious the show is. Shows like Dora, just to name one, repeat the same words over and over and try to interact with the children watching them, but to me it just seems like the creators are trying to hard. There's not a lot of different plots for different episodes to keep children interested and they are all pretty much the same: Dora has to get somewhere but needs help from her map. It all gets to be pretty repetitive and boring.

I miss the good kids shows. To be honest I would probably still watch Rugrats if it still aired. It was one of the best kids shows in my opinion and never got boring. Every episode was a new adventure. Not to mention, it didn't force healthy habits on you or make you talk to the TV.

Awkwardness

The 98 PXY white party at the dome was on Sunday night, and it was... awkward. Maybe it was just me but I didn't realize what it was going to be like. So I walk in with my jeans and white hoodie (since it was only like 30 degrees out) and realized that the whole night was going to be awkward.

The party was aimed for ages 13 to 19 I think and I've never been more annoyed in my life. There were so many girls walking around in tank tops and short-shorts and the skimpiest clothes they could possibly have. I don't know how their parents even let them out of the house. To me at like 13 or 14 you shouldn't be dressing like that and grinding with random guys you don't know. It's disgusting and if it were my kid i would probably kill them.

I'm about to sound like an old lady, but kids these days seem to be growing up faster. I remember when i was younger I was wearing clothes with cartoon characters on them and wasn't worried so much about how I look. But now girls seem to be buying the designer brand clothes sooner and obsessing over boys at like 9 years old. It just kind of bothers me that kids don't get to enjoy their childhood for as long and at a young age they start worrying about looking good for and impressing other people.

Back to feeling awkward... if I knew what the party was going to actually be like, I would have dressed way different. I think I was like the only one dressed in jeans and a hoodie. Not to mention me and my friends were like the oldest people there. There ended up being more of the younger group and we really didn't know any of the people except for a few. Over all, I was a little disappointed with the night, but what can you do.

I'm jumping around a lot, but still on the topic of growing up to fast, have you ever seen the show Toddlers and Tiaras? It's actually very interesting but at the same time I find it ridiculous. If you don't know what it's about, it's a show on beauty pageants for little girls as young as an infant but the key stars of the show are usually 5 years or older. I find it hard to believe that a little girl would one day randomly want to be in beauty pageants, the parents must have forced the kids to do it at one point. I find it kind of sad that young girls are already being told to always look pretty and are held up to unrealistic expectations. The girls on the show at their young age are already getting spray tans, wearing more makeup then most people I know, getting their hair done, and spending hundreds of dollars on an outfit for a pageant. I don't understand why the parents are okay with spending all this money for their kids to be told that they are not good enough to win a pageant or to just win a trophy. Also if a girl wins a lot of pageants she might turn out overly confident and a girl who can't win any might have self-esteem problems later on in life. I just think the whole thing is a bad idea and i wouldn't want my kid to be apart of something like that. It doesn't celebrate being unique and the winners of the pageants usually have the same specific look that caused them to win.





This little girl looks scary! She looks like a china doll and it's just not realistic. Little girls aren't supposed to look like this and their parents are spending a lot of money to make their kid look fake and creepy. Also in the show, one of the girls was crying and really upset because she didn't want to get spray tanned and the mother pretty much forced her to. Another girl had just gotten her hair done and she was spinning around and playing like a little girl should and the mother or coach or whatever started yelling at her and told her she wasn't aloud to move until her performance because it would mess up her hair. If the kids decided they wanted to do it on their own, that would be a different story. But they should never be forced to do something like a beauty pageant. They should get the chance to enjoy being young and be able to be treated like a normal kid instead of constantly having people judge them or always having people in their face with makeup and fake nails.

Introduction

I had nothing to really blog about so I'm just gonna go with this: random things my friends do. Most people probably wont find this funny because a lot are inside jokes, but I'm always laughing at stupid, funny, and embarressing things my firends do or say.

Since each post has to have a certain length, I will also be writing about any thing and everything. New movies I've seen, music, funny clips, books, and concerts/events that might be happening.

Lets start off with this... I've finally seen Paranormal Activity, even though it came out forever ago and no one really cares any more. To be honest I found it very funny. Everyone said it was so scary and realistic (one of my friends even cried) and Aloma just told me she couldn't sleep because of it, but I just found it different. It's not like the average horror movie with the creepy music playing in the background and things constantly jumping out at you. One of the few scary parts was when Micha was thrown into the camera but other then that I only jumped one other time and it was because my friend hit me and yelled to try and scare me.

The part where Katie was crawling over her boyfriend did remind me of the Exorcist. The Exorcist is probably the scariest movie I've seen and I think the original is supposed to be even worse. But really, the way she went down the stairs on her back is not normal. People are not supposed to move that way and I couldn't look at stairs for months without seeing that picture in my mind.

Since I'm on the topic of horror movies, I will just continue. The first horror movie I ever saw was the ring. That was the worst experience of my life. I wasn't even able to watch the whole movie and ended up hiding my face with a pillow and crying. For a long time after that I was scared of the bathroom because of the thing with water and the well and stuff, so basically I made someone stay upstairs whenever I took a shower. After that I stayed away from horror movies... until my friends dad made me watch one at a birthday party. We watched Christine, if you've never heard of it, it's just about a possessed car that took control of the schools nerd and turned him into something like a badass emo kid. Then the car was after some boy who stole the emo kids girlfriend and it was just completely unrealistic and weird, but caused me to get addicted to scary movies.

A lot of people think that horror movies are all the same and really dumb, but I love them. They're entertaining and a lot of fun to watch with a group of friends, especially when you sit around laughing and making fun of them. My DVR is usually filled with movies everytime a marathon comes on and I love it when around Halloween time they play movies constantly.

So I really didn't have much to write that's related to random things my friends do so I probably should have named my blog something else. Next time I will try to remember a funny thing that someone said or put one of my favorite YouTube clips up.
